Bethany Lutheran College Alumni Event

On February 23, we hosted an event for their alumni and friends of Bethany Lutheran College (BLC) in the Los Angeles area. There were twenty-five people in attendance. A taco meal was provided and Christopher Kind, the Director of Development from BLC, gave a presentation on the college. Many thanks to all who attended and helped with this event!

Parking lot Repairs

On February 12, work began to make repairs on the parking lot. Due to the rain, the project is still in progress. The contractor is scheduled to return on March 21 to fill additional cracks and make “touch up” repairs.

Connections with the Community

Beginning in 2019, Pastor Matt has been invited to attend monthly faith-based community meetings held by the Bell Gardens Neighborhood Watch. Pastor Matt was also appointed to serve on the Board of Directors for the Bell Gardens Chamber of Commerce for the 2019 year.

Ash Wednesday Service

On March 6, we held our Ash Wednesday service at 6 PM. There were thirty-seven people in attendance. The service was bilingual and included an imposition of ashes. There was a meal of tacos, rice, and beans served before the service. Many thanks to all who attended and helped with this event!

Holy Week Services

This year we will have a special service for Maundy Thursday on April 18 at 6 PM. We will have a special service on Good Friday on April 19 at 6 PM. Our Easter Sunday service will be at 9 AM on April 21. All are welcome!

New Service Time

Starting on April 21, Easter Sunday, our service time will change from 10:45 AM to 9 AM. This will be our new Sunday service time going forward. A time for fellowship and bible study will be offered after the 9 AM service.
